Notes from the DBA Meeting 5 Feb 2005:
1. Data Due Dates: All team material must be emailed to the DBA by 21 April. The DBA scheduler will need the following: a) Number of teams per division b) Fields per age group c) Dates fields are not available d) Yahoo map links to any new fields being used. This information is to be sent to Neill Riddell at dbacentral@aol.com.
I will need the following : a) Manager list per team which includes: name, team, email, and phone #. Email is essential for we don't communicate by phone unless it's a necessity. This information must be to me by 21 April. Send it to billehred@yahoo.com
By 5 May I will need a roster from each team and proof of insurance. Without these documents teams will not be able to play. Send this data to billehred@yahoo.com, or provide me hard copies at the Managers meeting.
2. Manager Meeting: Mandatory manager meeting will be held on 5 May at the Copeland Center in Wyandotte. We will divide the meeting up into segments for softball and baseball. This will give us the opportunity to discuss rules and issues unique to each of the leagues. More specifics to follow.
3. Start Dates : a)10U SB, 12U SB, and 12U BB will start during the week of 20 May.
b) 14U SB and 14U BB will start during the week of 27 May.
c) 18 U SB and 18U BB will start during the week of 10 June.
4.18U SB and 18U BB: We have decided to keep 18 U SB. But an effort must be made by all associations to get the word out about this division
18U BB playoffs will be played in various cities instead of having all games in the GM's community. We have run into field availability issues when it is confined to one community. This is due to the lack of regulation size fields in most of our communities. Consequently, the playoffs tend to drag out. Before playoffs start we will coordinate the schedule will all of the teams in terms of home fields. The GM's association will be responsible for providing the umpires and balls for all of the games.
5. League GM's: SB: 10U- Grosse Ile, 12U-Southgate (possible), 14U-Allen Park, 18U-Wyandotte.
BB: 12U- Riverview, 14U- Wyandotte, 18U-Trenton.
Association President's: I need the names, phone#, and email's of your GM by 21 April.Send it to billehred@yahoo.com.
6. 10U SB pitching rule: It was decided that a pitcher will be allowed to pitch three consecutive innings per game.
