Is there anyone else out there that isn't happy the playoff date for 10U Girls Fast-pitch has been changed to 7/21 instead of the the 7/15 date stated on the schedule?
Our team has girls that cannot participate or are canceling their vacations because of the change. Families have scheduled vacations once they received the schedule.
In the original email from the division GM it states:
The DBA ordinarily allows the GM to dictate dates of playoff games because there is a lot of work and planning involved to set these up. I'm trying to work with all of you to help make things run smoothly, so be sure to let me know your preference. Majority will rule!
Next email regarding playoff date states:
I checked our Parks and Rec department and I also checked my work schedule because I knew I had a potential issue during the week of Tuesday, July 15th. I am tentatively scheduled to be out of town for a class the week of the 14th for a new job I've just started. And our AP Parks and Rec can accommodate this amount of teams better on the week of the 21st than the 15th as well.
Wondering what the majority prefer?
Rec dept. can accommodate the amount of teams better? Doesn't mean they can't accommodate our teams on 7/15.
Has training? We have vacation.

I couldn't agree more....I was real happy w/the DBA over the last 4 yrs then this year it's like Dr.jekyl and Mr. hyde....daughter was with her coaches for 3 yrs moved up once to stay with them then -POW- she can't follow her coaches up-not mature or big enough.....some Wyandotte B.S. I talked with a gentleman who runs wyan girls softball about the issue his response is if she that good put her in travel!! Why should the kid change teams and suffer plus wyan doesn't even have a travel girls softball team period.I thought that we were grooming these girls for jr. high and high school ball, why keep a kid at a level that stifles her growth??? It's a shame that the higher ups in Wyandotte can't get their head out of there...and change the policy for the kids!!!

The DBA does not seek to regulate the policies of member associations on such matters, excepting only the requirement that players must not exceed the age cut offs for the various divisions.
